Behind every college recommendation is hours of research, years of campus visits, and in-depth knowledge of admission trends, student support services, and the real “fit” factors that make or break a student’s college experience. Creating a truly personalized, well-balanced college list takes more than just academic records—it’s a collaborative process that draws on both our deep expertise and your family’s unique perspective.
As part of this service, we ask parents and students to complete two in-depth questionnaires. The parent questionnaire allows you to share your thoughts on your student’s strengths, challenges, college preferences, financial considerations, and the kind of environment where you believe they’ll thrive. The student questionnaire helps us understand your student’s interests, goals, learning style, and priorities for college life.
In addition, we’ll request a copy of the student’s transcript, any available test scores, and a summary of extracurricular activities and honors.
Together, this information helps us build a list that reflects not only what’s possible—but what’s right—and allows us to create a thoughtful, customized list that supports both the student’s growth and the family’s goals.

Our CCL+ package includes everything in the standard service, plus a one-hour one-on-one meeting with an experienced Capstone consultant. This time is yours to ask questions, explore special circumstances, and get personalized guidance on topics that matter most to your family.
Whether you’re navigating learning differences, considering direct-admit programs in business, seeking colleges that are a good fit for pre-med, pre-law, or pre-vet, or want to understand how merit aid and financial aid fit into your student’s college strategy, this session gives you space to dive deeper.
It’s a smart upgrade for families who want clarity, confidence, and a more customized experience.
Your Custom College List
We will create a custom college list for your student that includes 20 great-fit colleges of varying selectivity. Our report will include information about each college’s admissions selectivity that will help you understand how we estimated your student’s likelihood of admission (likely, target, reach, wildcard), and it will provide a summary of our personalized approach to building your student’s list. Your student’s task will then be to do the research necessary to identify around 12 colleges they are most excited about and believe are the best fit for them.
With this thoughtfully curated list in hand, your student will be ready to move forward–confident, focused, and excited about the journey ahead.
